The Rundown: January 9th

NFL Playoffs

So, having a good record in the regular season does mean something in the Wild Card weekend. All the home teams won their games this weekend. The most impressive one? Is that even a question? Tim Tebow. Yup, of course.

He is the most interesting quarterback in the world.

Tebow is probably the second worst passer currently in the league right now, ahead of Blain Gabbert. But in the words of Skip Bayless, all he does is win football games!

He makes plays when it matters, he gets fired up at the right time, and most importantly he inspires the defense to make plays, and they're statistically one of the worst in the league. And yet he somehow wins football games.

While I can't see him winning in New England at night, he will at least make it close. Hell he might beat em.

Afflux in Dallas

I honestly cannot get my head around what I think of this Mavericks team right now. I for sure know that this lockout has effected this team and many others in this case start to the season. This team is in a state of mediocrity. It especially doesn't help that Jason Kidd is injured for a couple games now.

Or does it?

I really noticed how much of a bigger role Roddy B, Vinsanity, and especially Lamar had on Saturday night. Lamar looked a lot more comfortable, he seemed a lot more confident since his arrival to Dallas, especially after he threw up the trademark Dirk three point hand gesture. He could possibly be this years Tyson Chandler.

Roddy B will eventually have to replace J-Kidd, whether that's this year or next. He has fresh legs, he's young, and ready. This could be a make or break year for Roddy, I mean it's his 3rd year, and if he can't find a role on this team then he will likely be traded for Dwight Howard.

Vince is kinda a one year man here in Big D. I can't see the Mavs giving him a deal after this year, no matter what Kind of a year he has. He's just trying to prove that he can be the type of support player who can possibly get his first NBA championship.

So are these Mavs going to under .500? No. Are they going to win the West? Probably not. Can they make a title run? Of course. But there's still many questions to be answered.
